An important point of clarification for this lesson is that while Moses' parents are descendants of Levi, the Levitical priesthood was not established until after the Jews were led out of captivity, It is good to explore the cultural implications of how faith would be developed hearing the oral histories of Joseph and living in the outcome of such unwavering faith in God, but their practice of acting on their faith in God would have influenced their sons and the practices that would follow when the Levitical priesthood is established in the wilderness.
