Christlike Love in Marriage

From a Roman jail cell, the Apostle Paul writes to the church in Ephesus to strengthen their faith and ground them in godly living. In this week’s study, we explore how imitating Christ sets the standard for every believer, especially in the sacred covenant of marriage.

Ephesians 5 calls us to reflect Christ in all we do, but especially in how we love. Marriage is not a cultural invention, it is a divine institution, patterned after Christ’s sacrificial love for the Church.

Paul reminds us that believers are called to walk in love, purity, and wisdom, empowered by the Spirit and rooted in our identity as God’s children. As we walk in the light, our homes, especially our marriages, should reflect the holiness, humility, and self-giving nature of Christ.

In a world that distorts marriage, Paul’s words shine with clarity: the Christian home is a testimony of the Gospel.
