Diotrephes: Imitate the Good
May 5, 2024 • Dr. Samuel D. Tootle III
Imitate the Good calls believers to contend for the faith not only with right doctrine, but with right living. Drawing from Jude’s exhortation and the contrast found in 3 John, this study sets before us three lives that reveal the fruit of humility, faithfulness, and pride. Gaius and Demetrius model lives aligned with truth and love, while Diotrephes stands as a warning of how self-promotion and resistance to authority fracture the Church. The study urges believers to examine their own conduct and to deliberately imitate what honors Christ and strengthens His body.
